October 15, 1946 — February 22, 2019

Michael Frank Misialek Sr., 72 of West Fargo, N.D. passed away surrounded by family on February 22, 2019.

Michael, “Mike,” was born October 15, 1946 at the Grafton Hospital to Frank Alfred Misialek and Elinor Theresa Nelson Misialek of St. Thomas, N.D. In highschool he proudly played the trumpet Taps for Memorial Day and military services. He graduated from St. Thomas Highschool in 1964 and went on to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks graduating in 1969 with a B.S.B.A. degree in Business. He was a member of the Delta Epsilon Fraternity and Business Honor Society. He joined the United States Air Force from 1969-1973 and attained the rank of staff sergeant and was a supervisor in the missile and aircraft squadrons. He then went on to be employed in Grand Forks as a business manager and real estate salesman. Mike started working at Job Service of North Dakota in 1976 and retired in 2007 working in the Worker’s Compensation Bureau as a field representative in the Fargo office. He was an active member of the Job Service International Association of Personnel in Employment Security. He was elected District Treasurer, Representative, and President of the North Dakota Chapter of the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security.

Michael loved spending time with his family. He spent many weekends visiting his parents, Frank and Elinor Misialek, in St. Thomas enjoying a family meal and chatting. He was blessed with an outgoing and fun personality from the start. His favorite pastime as a child was teasing his sister, Patti, calling her “Pickle nose.” As they grew up he was always there protecting her in any way he could. When Michael had his own family they loved spending time at their cabin on Lake Ida boating, water skiing, chasing butterflies, swimming, shooting fireworks, and bonfires. He loved watching his children participate in sports, concerts, and photography. After these special events there was always time for a treat to celebrate. Michael loved being a “papa” to his grandchildren, Tori Anica and Hunter Michael Misialek.
