Louise Agnes Schanilec, age 77 of Minto, ND passed away at Unity Hospital in Grafton, ND on February 11, 2019.
Louise Agnes Feltman, the daughter of the late Dominic and Josephine, was born October 25, 1941 in Grafton, ND. She grew up in the Minto-Warsaw area and attended Minto Public Schools, where she graduated in 1959 as salutatorian. While in high school, she worked at Hewitt Motors, Minto Drug, Roma’s Café and Ann & Lorey’s Dress Shop. After high school, she worked at the Bank of Minto.
On August 5, 1961 she married the love of her life Jim, and they raised four wonderful children. She loved attending all of her children’s ball games, plays, musical programs and other activities. In the 80’s-90’s, Louise and Jim sponsored a softball team (Jim’s Insurance Agency) that they followed everywhere, including two National Tournaments. Louise always made monster cookies for “her boys.”
Louise and Jim purchased an older trailer home on Golden Lake in 1995 and spent every summer with their children and grandchildren, making wonderful memories for everyone.
Louise was a very devout Catholic and taught religious education classes, served on the parish council, was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society and was a reader as well as a Eucharistic minister during mass for many years.
Louise is survived by her husband, Jim Schanilec, Minto, ND; son, Tim (Julie) Schanilec, Fargo, ND; daughters: Therese Schanilec, Grand Forks, ND; Sheila Korynta, rural Ardoch, ND; Mari (Charlie) Ogborn, Savage, MN; grandchildren: Ryan Korynta, Katie Jo (Parker) Shook, Tony Ogborn and Nicole Ogborn; step-grandchildren: Nicole (Jon) Chamberlain and Jared (Karen) Jackson; step-great-grandson: Levi Chamberlain; brother, Ray (Jennette) Feltman and brothers-in-law: Lenny Schanilec and Leroy Erickson, as well as many nieces, nephews and God-children she loved so much. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dominic Feltman, Josephine (Rudnik) Feltman Jagielski, step-father, Sig Jagielski and grandson, Baby Charlie Ogborn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto, ND. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 – 10:30 A.M. at the Church. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
