Julian Lizakowski

Julian R. Lizakowski, age 79 of Grafton, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.

Julian Lizakowski was born November 20, 1936 on the family farm in Rural Minto, ND, the son of the late Julian and Steffie (Langowski) Lizakowski. He grew up and attended school in Minto, graduating in 1955. Julian farmed his entire life and entered a partnership with his brothers in the 1970’s. He actively raised sugar beets and cattle. He was united in marriage to Beverly Ruthruff on February 14, 1976. The couple made their home in Grafton. Beverly passed away on June 4, 2004.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton.

Julian is survived by his sons: Jason (Carrie) Lizakowski, Grafton, ND, Jeremy (Mary) Lizakowski, Veseleyville, ND, step-children: Richard (Denise) Efterfield, KS, Gail McCambridge, Park River, ND, James (Angel) Broome, TN, and John (Julie) Grimm, Ellendale, ND, 3 grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 32 step-great grandchildren, siblings: Rose (Ernest) Misialek, Grand Forks, ND, Eleanore Narloch, Minto, ND, JoAnne Edwards, Sherman Oaks, CA, David (Penny) Lizakowski, Minto, ND, Daniel (Jo Ann) Lizakowski, Grafton, ND, Alice (Dan) Thornburg, Lakewood, CO, Carol (Terry) Nowling, Gretna, NE, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant sister Theresa Frances, 2 step-grandchildren: Barbara and Ariel, and 1 step-great grandchild: Rylie

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery of Grafton.
