Yvonne K. Lorton

Yvonne K. Lorton, age 71 of Park River, ND passed away on Tuesday, August 04, 2015 at First Care Health Center of Park River with her family at her side. Yvonne K. Lorton was born April 18, 1944 in Park River, ND the daughter of the late Melvin and Alpha (Wang) Peterson. She grew up and attended school in Park River, graduating from the Walsh County Agricultural School. She attended Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, ND. On April 10, 1965 she was united in marriage to Gerald Lorton at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. Together they raised two children, Kim and Michael. Yvonne worked at the Grand Forks Clinic, Northside Grocery and Jim's Super Valu. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and WELCA, Park River, ND; the Park River American Legion Auxiliary, Park River Jaycee's. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, doing word search puzzles and shopping. She is survived by her children: Kim (Scott) Helt, Rochester, MN; Michael (Deena) Lorton, Park River, ND; three granddaughters that she loved and cherished with all her heart, Stephanie & Katie Helt and Meghan Lorton. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services will be Friday, August 7, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
