Winifred "Winnie" Fedje, age 89 of Hoople, ND passed away on Friday, May 01, 2009 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Winnifred Fedje was born June 4, 1919 to Ole and Hannah (Huseby) Fedje at Hoople, ND. She grew up in the community of Hoople, graduating from Hoople High School. She received her education at Drews Business College in St. Cloud, MN and Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND.
She was employed as a bookkeeper for Vendberg-Fedje & Co., a family store and later was employed as a bookkeeper for Fedje Hardware of Hoople, ND until her retirement.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Hoople, ND; First Lutheran Church Women and the Ladies Civic Club in Hoople.
Grateful for having shared her life is her niece Mary (Don) Keyser, Rapid City, SD; nephew Fred (Beverly) Hendrickson, Redmond, WA; 2 grand nieces Karen (Mark) Nelson & Donna (Jim) Cole; five grand nephews: Doug (Teresa) Keyser, Scott Hendrickson, Gary Hendrickson, Mikal Hendrickson, Patrik Hendrickson and George (Kristen) Hendrickson; seven great grand nieces, five great grand nephews, one great great grand nephew; Amy Fedje, Andy Fedje, Dick and Janet Fedje & family, Bob and Robin Fedje & family and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Beatrice Fedje, Adeline Fedje and Alice (George) Hendrickson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church of Hoople. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Hoople City Cemetery.
