Willard S. Frovarp

Willard S. Frovarp, age 85 of Park River, ND passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at First Care Health Center of Park River.

Willard was born Dec. 29, 1935 on the farm to Calmer and Sophia (Wrubleski) Frovarp of rural Adams, ND. He grew up on the family farm attending country school near Adams. He graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River in 1954. Willard worked construction for 3 years followed by six years working for Dakota Plate and Glass in Fargo. In 1964 he moved to the family farm to farm and raise cattle.

On February 9, 1958 he was united in marriage to Marlene Nicklaus in Moorhead, MN. They raised their four children on the farm. He worked hard and took pride in his farm and livestock operation. Whether 4 ^th of July, Christmas or a hunting adventure, family gathered for celebration and fun; making many cherished memories along the way. As he retired he found entertainment in watching the wildlife travel through his yard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family.

Willard is survived by his children: Jeffery, Park River, ND; Tamara Ness, Rugby, ND; Bradley, Park River, ND; his grandchildren: Mandy (Ben) Kuhnhenn, Jeremy (Annie) Ness, Heather Frovarp, Jessica (Neil) VanDam, Brandon (Lindsay) Frovarp, Emily Frovarp, and Hannah Frovarp; great grandchildren: Ryli, Seth, Beckett, Jocelyn, Violet, Arthur and baby VanDam, his brother; Christ Frovarp, Park River, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Gregory, his sisters: Irene Howey, Elsie Mundy, Thelma Boulduc, his brothers: Orvin, Curtis, Marvin, and Gaylord.

Private family services were held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River, ND.  A celebration of life and burial will be held this spring at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Park River, ND.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the St. Peter’s Lutheran  Cemetery of rural Park River.  Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery following the service.
