Wayne A. Hrabik

Wayne A. Hrabik, age 70 of Grand Forks and formerly of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at his home in Grand Forks, ND.

Wayne A Hrabik was born December 2, 1949 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Arthur and Marcella (Valente) Hrabik. He attended school in Grafton, graduating in 1967. He served in the United States Army from 1968-1971 with the Mule Skinning Unit in Vietnam. Upon his discharge he returned to Grafton and worked with his father at Hrabik Construction. Wayne was united in marriage to Sheila Welsh on September 27, 1975 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Grafton until 1979 when they moved to Grand Forks, ND. He worked for various construction companies until 1996 when he went to work for the Federal Construction Managers, working in North Dakota, Georgia and Kansas. He retired in 2012. He worked part-time in apartment maintenance until 2018.

Wayne was past-commander of the Grafton American Legion Post #41 in 1974-75. He was a member of the VFW and Grand Forks Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila, Grand Forks, ND, and his brother, Ronald (Janice) Hrabik, East Grand Forks, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Ann.

Graveside services will be Friday, June 12, 2020 at 3:00 PM at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Grafton, ND. Military rites will be provided by the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard. Social distancing and cloth face masks are mandatory.
