Warren G. Larson

Warren Glenn Larson, age 80 of St. Thomas, ND passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 at his home in St. Thomas. Warren was born February 15, 1934 to the late Andrew and Alda (Haug) Larson. He was raised and attended school in the St. Thomas area. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served from 1957-1959 including a tour in Germany. After his discharge he moved to Southgate, CA and worked at General Motors for a number of years. He returned to St. Thomas and was united in marriage to Yvonne LaRoche on November 12, 1959. She passed away November 17, 1984 after a brief battle with cancer. Warren was employed by Kennelly Co. until 1983, after which he worked for Terra Industries until his retirement in 1996. Warren was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of St. Thomas and a member of the Ottum-Ball American Legion Post #168. Warren is survived by his wife Elizabeth, St. Thomas, ND, step-children: Lisa (Norm) Oby, Brandon Oby, St. Thomas, ND, Morgen (Scott) Shaff and grandson Greyson Shaff, Englewood, CO, father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Betty Hein, Grand Forks, ND, sister Jeanette (Dr. Edward) Johnson, Arden Hills, MN, sister-in-laws Barbara Larson and Darlene Larson, St. Thomas, ND. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jim Larson, Allan Larson, and great nephew Kristopher Larson. A family celebration of Warren's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at his home. Military rites will be provided by the Ottum-Ball American Legion Post #168 of St. Thomas.
