Wallace J Feltman

June 29, 1929 — July 28, 2022

Wallace Joseph Feltman of Grafton, ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton surrounded by his family.

Wallace was born June 29, 1929 in Grafton, ND the son of Joseph and Selma (Schuster) Feltman. He grew up and attended school in Harriston District 121 and one year at St. Anthony School in Warsaw. He attended Minto High School for two years and Grafton High School where he graduated in 1947. Wallace was honored to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree from Mayville State University. Wallace was principal of Chase Elementary School for 28 years and director of the Summer Migrant Program for 22 years. He retired from teaching after 43 enjoyable years.

Wallace had many passions; farmer, educator and community involvement including local and state PTA (Parent Teacher’s Association), and a member of state and national Principal’s Association. He spent 31 years on the Walsh County School Reorganization Committee, Minto Farmers Elevator Board and honorary Knights of Columbus.

Wallace and Evelyn were married October 13, 1953 in Argyle, MN, the start of their 68 wonderful years together. They lived on the family farm near Warsaw until 1990. Upon retirement they moved to Grand Forks, ND for 25 years until returning to Grafton.

Wallace is survived by his children: Marlin (Betty) Feltman, Grand Forks, ND; Diane (Bill) Christensen, Scottsdale, AZ; Cheryl (Curt) Stock, Fargo, ND; and Greg (Rondee) Feltman, Grafton, ND; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, brothers: Winslow, John, and Steve and sisters: Steffie, Rose, Jean, Luella, Madge, infant Cyrella and one grandson Michael.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 11:00 A.M at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Warsaw. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9-11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.  The family requests memorials to the St. Stanislaus Preservation Trust Fund or St. Stanislaus Cemetery Fund.
