Wade A. Welsh

December 26, 1967 — May 2, 2015

Today, May 2, 2015, we said goodbye to Wade, our Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Wade joined his grandfather and grandmother Art and Annie Nybo, and his grandmother Margret White in heaven, after losing his battle with diabetes, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. He is survived by his mother, Karen Welsh, and his brother, Neil Welsh, of Thief River Falls, MN, nieces Kelsey and Andrea, nephews Joshua, Craig, and Casey, grandniece Madison and grandnephew Tyler. Service for Wade will be at Savior's Lutheran Church in Grafton, and he will be laid to rest at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoople, ND beside his grandparents Art and Annie. Wade was born in December 26, 1967 to Karen and Morris Welsh, in Grafton, ND. He attended school in Grafton. While in school, he enjoyed choir and enjoyed numerous trips with friends, especially his trip to Branson, Missouri. After graduating in 1986, he started working with the disabled at the State School Developmental Center in Grafton, ND. He excelled at his job because he loved working with individuals. He was proud of being a Med Tech and being fluent in American Sign Language. He got a job with Friendship in Grafton, later transferring to Fargo in 1998. Wade continued to work for Friendship until 2012, when an injury forced him to retire. Wade loved life. He loved being in the kitchen, whether it was making cakes for friends, or a casserole to share at work, or the favorite food for family and friends. He loved playing games, especially Bingo, Uno, and Phase 10. Wade loved to have fun and never passed up the opportunity for a prank or practical joke. He surrounded himself with family and friends, making sure everyone had everything they needed. Including a pat on the back, a hug, a smile, and a kind word, especially for those close to him. His cars were his pride and joy especially his Mustang and his Cougar. Having both of them in the Toppers Car Show was a very special day for him. He also loved the outdoors and his new log house, sitting by the pond, enjoying nature, watching the deer and moose. Wade was quick to help others. He will be remembered for his generosity, giving of himself and resources, and also for his advice, wisdom, and kindness. Wade will be remembered for his laughter and love of life and family. He will be missed always.
