Wade E Kalgard

Wade E. Kalgard, age 45 of Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 near Park River from injuries sustained in a four-wheeler accident.

Wade Evan Kalgard was born January 2, 1971 in Park River, ND, the son of the late Myron and Barbara (Cole) Kalgard. He attended Park River High School, graduating in 1989. He then attended AVTI in Grand Forks. Following his education he worked as a meat cutter for various stores in the area. He also worked for Motor Coach Industries for a time and various manufacturing firms in Grand Forks. In 2011 he moved back to Park River to care for his mother and worked for the City of Park River until his death.

Wade’s zest for life was evident in everything he did. He had a love for the open road and wheels, whether 2 or 4. He looked forward to the annual pilgrimage to the Black Hills with his brothers and friends. He left this world doing what he loved most.

Wade is survived by his sisters: Sheila Kalgard, Fargo, ND, Julie Kalgard, Grand Forks, ND, brothers Chad and Kim (Anna), both of Park River, ND, nephews: Kory Kalgard, Park River, ND Jason Kalgard, Grand Forks, ND, nieces: Kali (Justin) Shannon, Pleasant Hill, IA, Lindsay (Josh) Jelinek, Pisek, ND, Kiley (Andrew Dusek) Kalgard, Grafton, ND, great nephew Gunnar Kalgard, great nieces, Jaylie, Cadance, and Keira Jelinek and Rylie Shannon. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Golden Valley Cemetery of Rural Park River, ND.
