Virginia Meyer, age 91, passed away peacefully March 20, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Park River.
Virginia Irene Ramsey was born to John Henry Ramsey and Amy Arabella (Simmons) Ramsey on January 3, 1925, near Park River, ND. She attended the Ramsey Grove School for 8 grades and graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in 1944. After graduation, she worked for the Walsh County Extension Service in Park River.
In 1951, she moved to Fargo, ND, and worked for the Office of Price Stabilization, and then with the Federal Housing Administration.
She was married to Wayne Alvin Meyer on June 3, 1956, and they lived in Fargo, until they moved to Edinburg, ND, in 1957, where they joined Trinity Lutheran Church and became active members in their church and community throughout the years. They had two daughters and one son.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Goss, Overland Park, KS and her son Stuart Meyer, Indianola, IA; twin grandsons Jason and Jeremy Haugland, Seth and Caleb Meyer, and granddaughter Julia Meyer, brother Ernest Ramsey, Grand Forks, ND and sister Shirley Parker, Murchison, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Meyer, infant daughter Michelle DeLynn, father and mother John and Amy Ramsey, infant brother Ronald Ramsey, brothers Gordon, Lester, Desmond and Donald (twin to Ronald). Virginia will be laid to rest beside her husband Wayne and infant daughter Michelle.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to the Park River Bible Camp.
