Violet A. Samuelson, age 77 of Park River, ND, formerly of Adams, ND, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Violet A. Fandrich was born October 8, 1938 in Drake, ND, the daughter of the late Christian M. and Sara (Krueger) Fandrich. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Devils Lake, ND. Violet was united in marriage to Mylo E. Samuelson on December 21, 1956 in Seattle, WA. The couple returned to Adams and eventually purchased the family farm. Mylo passed away April 7, 2001 and Violet moved to Park River, where she made her home until the time of her death.

She was a member of the Hoff Lutheran Church, rural Adams, ND and the Bosh Ryba American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, loved to fish and was an excellent bowler.

Violet is survived by her children: Earl (Donna) Samuelson, Casselton, ND; Harley Samuelson, Grand Forks, ND; Mylo (Lori Looney) Samuelson, Jr., Grand Forks, ND; Sherri (Greg Byron) Samuelson, Casselton, ND; grandchildren: Reed (Jessica) Taija (Mackenzie), Angela (Eric), Wesley, Harley Ray and Stacy; brother, Arnold (Loretta) Fandrich, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mylo, and her sisters and brothers.

Funeral Services will be Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hoff Lutheran Church, rural Adams. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Hoff Lutheran Cemetery.
