Vincent Sylvester Lowe Vincent Sylvester Lowe, 92, Grafton, North Dakota died July 17, 2012 in the Lutheran Sunset Home, Grafton, North Dakota. Vincent, known lovingly as "Bud" or "Buddy" to family and friends, was born April 23, 1920 at the family home in Hoople, ND to Emil and Annie (Listul) Lowe. Bud had one brother, Leonard (Donna) Lowe, of Hoople and one sister Runa (Bill) Field of Grafton. He served three plus years overseas as a medic with the 1st Armored Division in North Africa and Italy. Upon returning from the military, he married Joyce Rinde of Hoople, ND on July 20, 1947. They resided in Grafton where Bud was manager and partner of Berdahl and Fedje Hardware store in Grafton until 1968. He then worked at the business office at the Grafton State School with his wife until their retirement in 1988. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and daughter-in-law, Laura Lowe. Vincent is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce; sons Jeffrey, Bismarck, ND, John (Pat), Monroeville, PA and Mark (Kathy), Dickinson, ND. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Nicholas(Christie)Lowe Sandy, UT, Michael(Barbie)Lowe, Bismarck, ND, Christopher (Jenn) Lowe, Zionsville, IN, Jennifer(Scott) Bash, North Huntingdon, PA, Julianne Lowe, Dickinson, ND and Lydia Lowe, Dickinson, ND and seven great grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Abigail Lowe, Madisyn Lowe, Emma and Carter Lowe and Elin and Leah Bash. Vincent was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where he served more than 20 years as organist. He volunteered at the Lutheran Sunset Home for many years serving as organist for Wednesday church services. He also served on church council, was a member of the Grafton American Legion Post #41, and served as a counselor for the Senior Health Insurance Program. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion Post #41 and the ND National Guard Honor Guard.
