Victor S. Sobolik

Victor S. Sobolik, age 74 of rural Veseleyville, ND passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home near Veseleyville.

Victor S. Sobolik was born November 9, 1943 on the family farm near Veseleyville. He attended elementary school at the Ops Township School near the farm. Following his education he farmed with his father and brothers. Victor served in the United States Army from 1965-1967, stationed in Germany. Following his discharge he returned home and started farming. Victor was united in marriage to Barbara Houdek on April 23, 1971 in Veseleyville. The couple made their home on the family farm.

Victor was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church of Veseleyville, ND. He served as a church trustee for a number of years. He was a member of the Park River Knights of Columbus, Minto School Board and Ops Township Board. Victor loved to fly and owned his own airplane. He loved spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren.

Victor is survived by his wife, Barbara, Pisek, ND; children: Michael (Sara) Sobolik, Collinsville, OK; Angela (Chad) Harty, Seminole, FL; Ryan (Jessica) Sobolik, Minto, ND; six grandchildren: Jacob, Tyler, William, Josie, Luke and Kinsey; his siblings: Henry (Diane) Sobolik, Forest River, ND; Robert (Janis) Sobolik, Denver, CO; Lucy (Bill) Buol, Moor Park, CA; Clayton (Jane) Sobolik, Hoople, ND; Eileen Sobolik, Pisek, ND; Lawrence (Ginny) Sobolik, Grand Forks, ND; James (Renee) Sobolik, Mayville, ND; Hugh Sobolik, Falcon, CO. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Lukes Catholic Church, Veseleyville, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be at St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Pisek American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
