Veronica R Pitcher

Veronica Pitcher, age 88 of Park River, ND went home to be with her Lord on Monday, September 30, 2019.

She was born on June 18, 1931 in Olga, ND to Henry and Veronica Denault. She worked outside the home during harvest with her husband and was employed at the Developmental Center from 1984 to 2005 retiring at the age of 74.

She married Stanley Pitcher on July 15, 1946 in Cavalier, ND. They were married for 63 years and raised eight children together.

Her greatest joy was time spent with her family, she looked forward to those times when all her children came home to be together. She would spend many hours in the kitchen preparing the favorites of each of her children and grandchildren. Her labor of love was working with her hands doing the most beautiful embroidery and crochet and blessed her children with quilts, pillowcases and towels.

Veronica is survived by her children: Eileen (Dick) Halvorson, Eldon Pitcher, David Pitcher, Donald Pitcher, Lori (Hunter) Russell, daughters-in-law Kathy Pitcher and Diane Pitcher; sister Gloria Zueger; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband Stanley, her sons Marvin Pitcher and Duayne Pitcher and daughter Vivian Herzog, son-in-law, Hunter Russell, parents and seven brothers and one sister.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 4, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Park River.
