Trueman C. Thompson age 72 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at his home in Grafton. Trueman C. Thompson was born September 21, 1936 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Trueman and Ingeborg (Egeland) Thompson. He grew up and attended school here graduating from Grafton High School. Trueman was united in marriage to Jessie Carlson on July 21, 1956 in Grafton where they made their home. Trueman farmed in Oakwood Township until 1990 when he retired.
Trueman was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton Curling Club where he served on the board and served as president, and a member of the Fair Oaks Golf Club. Trueman was a member of the 1970 National Curling Team that took 3
rd
in the Worlds. They traveled throughout Switzerland, Scotland and France. He was an avid sports fan and followed his children and grandchildren with their high school sports.
Trueman is survived by his wife Jessie, his children: Cathy Sando (John Tweten), Randy (Jackie) Thompson all of Grafton, ND; five grandchildren: Laith (Jennifer) Sando, Fort Worth, TX; Adam Sando, Steamboat Springs, CO; Drew (Sheena) Sando, Denver, CO; Morgan and Hanna Thompson, Grafton, ND; two great grandchildren: Brock and Luke Sando, and his sister Mary Ann (Arnold) Barclay, Grafton, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Doris Morstad and grandson Joshua Sando.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2009 from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery.
