Thomas M. Hagen

Thomas M. Hagen, age 62 of Fargo, ND and formerly of Grafton passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the MeritCare Palliative Care Unit in Fargo. Thomas M. Hagen was born January 6, 1947 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Joseph and Olive (Miller) Hagen. He grew and attended schools in Fordville, graduating from Fordville High School and graduated from Valley City State College. Tom was united in marriage to Patricia Anderson on April 20, 1968 in Wheaton, MN. In 1970 the couple moved to Clinton, MN where he taught Junior High Science and coached. From 1973 to 1979 the couple lived in the Park River area where he taught school and coached. He also did crop adjusting in the summer months. In 1979 the couple moved to Grafton where Tom worked as a loan officer for Production Credit Association. In 1986 he started Hagen Insurance in Grafton and owned and operated that until retiring. Pat died on Feb. 13, 2007 and in November of 2007 he moved to Fargo. Tom was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Fargo/Moorhead and a former member of the Bethel Free Lutheran Church of Grafton. He is survived by his children: Joel (Robin) Hagen, Moorhead, MN; Kristin Hagen, Fargo, ND; Kimberly (Jason) Hovland, Alexandria, MN; four grandchildren: Drew, Colton, Tori and Bailee; siblings: John (Elaine) Hagen, Fordville, ND; Patrick Hagen, Bismarck, ND; Dawne (Cliff) Dueck, Grand Forks, ND; Paul (Lola) Hagen, Fordville, ND; and Holly (Orlin) Dahl, Harwood, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Douglas and nephew Steven Dahl.
