Theodore F. Hodny

Theodore F. "Ted" Hodny, age 92 of Park River, ND passed away on Monday, March 07, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Theodore Hodny was born April 26, 1918 in Perth Township of Walsh County where he grew up and attended school. Following his education he farmed with his father. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Greicar on October 21, 1941 in Pisek, ND. The couple continued to farm in Perth Township until 1969 when they moved to Park River, ND where he went to work for Park River Redi-Mix. He later did fall work for area farmers. Gertrude passed away on November 3, 2007. He moved to the Good Samaritan Center on May 17, 2010. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Park River. Ted is survived by his grandchildren: Darren (Karina) Hodny, Moorhead, MN and Tracy (Les) Arnold, Cedar Rapids, IA and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son John, daughter-in-law Judy and two sisters: Adeline and Doreen. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 A. M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River. A visitation will be held on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Bechyne, ND. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Good Samaritan Center and the Walsh County Hospice staff for all the care that Ted received.
