Terry E. Sanders, age 67 of Devils Lake, formerly of Osnabrock, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Terry E. Sanders was born May 2, 1947 in Langdon, ND, the son of the late Ralph and Marjorie (Phelps) Sanders. He graduated from Osnabrock High School. He served as a Sgt 1st Class in the North Dakota National Guard. Terry was united in marriage to Mary Earley in 1970. The couple made their home on the family farm in rural Osnabrock, where he farmed with his father and brother. He worked as an expert welder for American Crystal at the Drayton Plant and as a fireman at the PAR Site in Concrete. The couple owned and operated the Sanders Supply in Osnabrock from the late 80's until the late 90's. He continued to farm with his son, retiring in 2000. The couple moved to Devils Lake where they made their home until the time of his death. He was a member of the Milton Presbyterian Church, the Eagelson-Meling American Legion Post #179 and was a director and cook for the North Dakota State Barley Show. Terry was an avid fisherman and card player. Terry is survived by his wife Mary Sanders, Devils Lake, ND; children: Deborah (Mac) McLennan, Grand Forks, ND; Robert (Angie) Sanders, Milton, ND; grandchildren: Halle and Jacob Sanders; siblings: Phyllis (Don) Sunderland, Fargo, ND; Virginia (Wayne) French, Edina, MN; Earl (Sheila) Sanders, Osnabrock, ND; Lois Barnes, Wichita Falls, TX. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Dovre Lutheran Church, Osnabrock, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Inurnment will be at the Milton Memorial Cemetery, Milton, ND.
