Ted Suda

Ted Suda, age 88 of Grafton, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.

Ted Suda was born April 14, 1934 in Grafton, ND the son of the late  Joseph V. and Mary (Tupa) Suda. He attended school in Veseleyville, ND. Following his education he worked on the family farm. Ted was united in marriage to Helena Sevigny on October 5, 1953 in Terrebone, MN. The couple lived on a farm near Grafton and later moved into Grafton. Ted worked for Simonson Lumber for a number of years. He later worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Grafton and Walsh County, retiring from the county. Helena passed away on May 29, 1988. Ted married Eva Mae Sevigny on October 28, 1988 in Grafton. The couple made their home in Grafton. Eva passed away on January 4, 2009.

Ted was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Grafton Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his children: Richard (Elizabeth) Suda, Grafton, ND; Joyce Haug, Yuma, AZ; Susan (Tom) Holt, Grafton, ND; Judy Suda, East Grand Forks, MN; Robert Suda, Patrick Suda, both of Grafton and Kathy (Blane) Swanson, Drayton, ND; 12 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; his sisters: Millie Houska, Grafton, ND and JoAnn (Ray) Normand, Gresham, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, son Gerald, brothers: Hubert, Vern and George and sister, Mabel Houska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. There will be a rosary at 6:45 PM followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Grafton, ND.  The funeral will be livestreamed via the Tollefson Funeral Home, Inc. Facebook page.
