Steven J. Summers

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION: Mass of Christian Burial is postponed until Friday, April 12, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.

Steven J. Summers, age 55 of Grafton, ND passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at Altru Hosptial of Grand Forks.

Steven was born July 4, 1963 in Belcourt, ND, the son of the late King Francis Summers and Betty (Henry) Summers.  He grew up and attended school in Belcourt, ND.  Following his education, he began working contracting and industrial jobs.  He met Sheila Ratliff in 1985 and they began their lives together.  They spent 34 years together taking drives in the country, walking in the woods, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors.  Steven loved being and father and cherished being a grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Sheila; children: Jolene Enno-Summers (Josh DesJarlais), Denver, CO, April Summers, Dunseith, ND, Allen Ratliff, Bismarck, ND, Nathan Ratliff, Bismarck, ND, Justin Ratliff, Fargo, ND, Nadine (Jesse) Garcia, San Antonio, TX, Steven Summers, Bismarck, ND, Miranda Summers, Grafton, ND, Joel Rodriguez, Bismarck, ND; his mother, Betty Summers, Grand Forks, ND; 41 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 5 siblings; and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 12, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
