Stella T. Myrvik

December 28, 1920 — April 29, 2013

Stella T. Myrvik, age 92 of Park River, ND passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center. Stella T. Strommen was born December 28, 1920 in Crosby, ND, the daughter of the late Ole and Olia (Roa) Strommen. She grew up and attended school in Adams, ND and graduated from Adams High School. She then attended Mayville State College where she received her teaching degree. Following her education, she was united in marriage to Carl Myrvik on June 11, 1943 in rural Milton, ND. The couple lived in rural Milton, Adams, Hoople and the West Coast before returning to Adams in 1955. Upon her return, she taught at the Dewey School in rural Fairdale for 5 years. In 1960, the couple purchased the Chuck Wagon Café in Adams and operated it for the next 24 years, retiring in 1982. They moved to Park River in 1987. Carl passed away on April 17, 1990. She moved into the Park River Good Samaritan Center in December of 2005 She was a member of Adams Mountain Lutheran Church and the Adams Civic Club. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, watching the Chicago Cubs, and playing Bingo at the Good Samaritan. She is survived by her sons: Darrell (Judy) Myrvik, Dwight (Kathy) Myrvik, both of West Fargo, ND, grandchildren: Tony (Loretta) Myrvik, Jason (Brandy) Myrvik, Wendy (Eric) Myren, Christina Myrvik, Matt (Andrea) Myrvik, great grandchildren: Madison and Brooklyn Myrvik, Dylan, Sadie, and Braelyn Myrvik, Jake Myren, and sister Doris (James) Haug. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and Stella Manella's special friend Colie Brintnell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, sisters Thelma Flom, Luella Flom, and brother Gerald Strommen. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery of rural Milton.
