Stanley R. Pitcher

Stanley Pitcher, age 97 of Park River, ND went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 07, 2009 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. He was born on June 21, 1912 in Walhalla, ND to Fred and Carrie Pitcher. He farmed in Park River since 1960 and was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad for 22 years. He served in the Army during WWII from 1942 to 1946. On July 15, 1946 he married Veronica Denault in Cavalier, ND. They celebrated their 63rd anniversary this year. He was a loving husband and father whose life was spent caring for his family. You could always find Stanley working in his garage and many of our fondest memories are of our times spent with him there. Stanley is survived by his wife, Veronica; children: Eileen (Dick) Halvorson, Tacoma, WA; Duayne (Diane) Pitcher, Edinburg, ND; Eldon Pitcher, Mesa, AZ; David Pitcher, Park River, ND; Donald Pitcher, Park River; Lori (Don) Flaten, Springfield, NE; daughter-in-law Kathy Pitcher, St. Louis Park, MN; sister Ida Berg, Walhalla, ND; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Marvin Pitcher and daughter Vivian Herzog, parents, four brothers and three sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery of Park River, ND.
