Sidney W. Hanson

Sidney W. Hanson, age 87 of Milton, ND passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center of Osnabrock, ND. Sidney W. Hanson was born March 25, 1922 in Rural Milton, ND, to the late Edward and Ragna (Olson) Hanson. He attended and graduated from the Milton Public Schools. After his graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942. Sidney was wounded in action and was honorably discharged in 1945. He then moved back to Milton and began farming. He married Doris Solil McLeod in June of 1989. Doris passed away on July 31, 1989. Sidney was a member of the Milton Lutheran Church, Milton Hilltop Senior Citizens, Milton American Legion Post #179 and the Last Man's Company World War II. He was a very active volunteer within the community of Milton. Sidney is survived by his brother Harlan (Gladys) Hanson, Milton, ND; sister Arleen Sunderland, Milton, ND; step-children and grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris, four brothers and three sisters.
