Shirley Marie Tisdale

Shirley M. Tisdale, age 76 of St. Thomas, ND passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Unity Medical Center, Grafton, ND under the care of Altru Hospice.

Shirley Marie Williams was born April 8, 1941 in Poughkeepsie, NY to Charles and Adele (Rotche) Williams. She grew up and attended school there. She married Paul Therriault on October 18, 1959 in Poughkeepsie. The couple lived in Maine and New York. She married Donald Tisdale on July 21, 1984 in St. Thomas, ND. The couple enjoyed wintering in Arizona, being on the farm in the summer months and spending time with their kids and grandkids. Shirley had a strong faith and was devoted to her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of St. Thomas, ND; her sons: Paul Therriault, Oxford, ME and Roger Therriault, Santa Anna, CA; her step-children: Wayne (Kris) Tisdale, Debra (Kenny) Osowski and Lon (Dana) Tisdale all of Grafton, ND; Lowell (Sandy) Tisdale, St. Thomas, ND and Mary (Mark) Hartje, Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her siblings: John of Holbrook, AZ and Charles of Poughkeepsie, NY. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, son John Therriault; sisters: Kathy, Bette and Mary; her step-daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Scott Bakke.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Altru Hospice and Unity Medical Center Staff who were so caring to Shirley and her family in the last weeks of her life. The family would like to request memorials to the St. Thomas City Cemetery Fund or the Altru Hospice-Grafton Branch.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 2:30 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at St. Thomas City Cemetery in the spring.
