Shaun Dean Martin

Shaun Dean Martin, age 37 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Palliative Care Unit at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Shaun Dean Martin was born May 18, 1979 in Grafton, ND the son of Gary and Jane (Vorachek) Martin. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1997. He attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton and graduated from NDSU in 2002 with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. Following his education he worked for the City of Grafton in the accounting dept.

Shaun’s family and friends will miss his kind, sensitive nature and his wonderful sense of humor. He loved spending time with his nephews, watching sports, and 80’s music. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Shaun fought very hard to stay with us, but his extended time with us was not to be. He is now in eternal peace and celebrated Christmas this year with his mom.

Shaun is survived by his father, Gary Martin, Grafton, ND; sisters: Michele (Jim) Hansel, Grafton, ND; Kari (Jason) Krolak, East Grand Forks, MN; three nephews: Easton and Asher Hansel and Luke Krolak. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1997.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring.

The family would like to extend a Special Thank You to Altru Hospital’s SCCU and Sanford Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care Shaun received while in their care.
