Sharon R.White, age 66 of St. Thomas, ND passed away on Sunday, February 03, 2013 at her home in St. Thomas. Sharon R. Burger, A St Thomas girl all her life, was born May 11, 1946 in Drayton, ND the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Anderson) Burger. She worked all through High School on the family farm. She graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1964 and married John White on October 10, 1964. The couple made their home in St. Thomas. They shared a wonderful life together in which Sharon gave birth to their first son, Robert in 1966 and Dion in 1969. Sharon worked on the family farm and later for Orville Gilleshammer Farms. She turned her farm hands in and started working at the Grafton Developmental Center which went on for over 30 years. While working there, she was able to further her education, graduating from the Wahpeton State School of Science in the RCT program. Sharon's commitment to St. Thomas included her years as a volunteer to the Ladies Auxiliary and Fire Bell. Her deep faith led her to become a Sunday School teacher and Deacon on the church council at St. John's Lutheran Church. The love of her boys led her to make endless bars for sporting events, served as a Boy Scout leader and their home was a home to all their friends to play and laugh. Sharon made sure her delicious baking traditions were passed on to her nieces. Sharon is survived by her husband, John, of St. Thomas, ND; her son Robert, Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren: Jayme and Ashley of Grand Forks, ND; sisters: Alice (Francis) Eide, Auburn, ND; Jeanne Lynn (Rocky) Contreras, St. Thomas, ND; Diane (Bill) Campbell, Huron, SD; brothers: Norman (Kathy) Burger, Fargo, ND; Earl (Roberta) Burger, St. Thomas. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dion in 1998 and sister, Evelyn Boulduc. Funeral services will be Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Thomas, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Thomas City Cemetery.
