Sharon Burns

Sharon Burns, 72, died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Mercy West Lakes Hospital in West Des Moines. Iowa. Sharon was born January 4, 1943 in Oakwood, ND to Andrew and Marie (Curtain) Rheaume. She grew up on the farm in Oakwood. She married Robert Burns on June 19, 1962 in Oakwood, ND. Sharon owned "Sharon's Sharpies" in Grafton. She touched the lives of so many people during her entire life. She will be truly missed by many. Sharon was the perfect wife, mom, mother-in-law, sister and friend. Sharon spent a number of years providing care for her loved ones. She most recently spent the last year with her family in Johnston, Iowa. Sharon loved watching her grandson's sporting events! She quickly became their biggest fan! All of the Burns' Boys will definitely miss her famous chocolate chip cookies! She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Grafton and St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale, Iowa. Survivors include her sons: Dennis Burns and Douglas (Janan) Burns of Johnston, IA; grandsons: AJ, Alex and Adam Burns; sister, Mary Lou Rheaume of Grafton, ND; sister-in-law, Dianne Burns of Arizona; and her beloved pets, Missy and Fred. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and son, Darren. Memorial Services will be Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Grafton, ND. The family will greet friends from 9:30-11:00 in the Gathering Space at the church.
