Scott A. Collis went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday Evening September 19, 2012 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND after a courageous battle with cancer. Scott was born April 5, 1953 in Bismarck, ND, the son of Curtiss and Olivia Collis. After graduation from Bismarck High School Scott joined the Army. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army in 1976, while traveling through Colorado, Scott stopped to attend church services in Denver and he was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus' name in 1977; he stayed and worked with the church there for several years. He later moved back to Bismarck where he met Joyce Plumb. They were married on June 12, 1983. After moving to several different places they settled in California to care for Joyce's mother and brother. After their passing Scott and Joyce returned to North Dakota and settled in Grafton where Scott worked for the ND DOT as a snow plow operator and road maintenance laborer. No matter where Scott lived, his first love was for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Scott enjoyed being involved in his church, both participating in worship service and witnessing to the goodness of God wherever he was. His hobbies included hunting, driving and taking care of his corvette, and reading Bible study books. Scott is survived by his wife Joyce, a son Mateo (April) Collis, a daughter Tiffany (Dennis) Norton, Grandchildren Tanner, Trevor, Jaenna, and soon to be Sprinter, a brother Gary Collis and a sister Diane (Alberto) Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtiss and Olivia Collis, a brother Derek Collis and a sister Shery Collis.
