Sarah Gierszewski

Sarah Gierszewski age 93 of Drayton, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Sarah Pokrzywinski was born June 5, 1919 near Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Sass) Pokrzywinski where she grew up and attended school. Sarah was united in marriage to William Gierszewski on October 21, 1952 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw. The couple lived and farmed in St. Andrews Township of Walsh County until William's death on July 30, 1977. Sarah continued to live on the farm with her son Harris. She was a member of the St. Edward's Catholic Church and Altar Society of Drayton and the Sacred Heart Society of Warsaw. Sarah is survived by her son Harris of Drayton, ND and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband William. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Edward's Catholic Church of Drayton, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery, Drayton, ND.
