Sandra Luz Valdez, a nurturing soul whose life was a testament to love, faith, and family, passed away on October 7, 2026. Born on December 31, 1959, in Peru, Indiana, Sandra was the cherished daughter of Francisco and Guadalupe Castro. She grew up surrounded by a loving family, including her predeceased parents and siblings: Javier Jose, Roberto Castro, Elena Reyes, and Evangelina Rodriguez.
Sandra’s journey of life was filled with moments of joy and grace. She was a proud graduate of Peru High School and furthered her education at a college in Laredo, Texas, where she earned her Associate's Degree. Her career was as varied and vibrant as she was, beginning as a dedicated cosmetologist and progressing through roles at LBC Bank in Laredo, Texas, and D'Arri Guerrero & Co. A talented accountant, Sandra devoted her skills to various companies, always bringing diligence and care to her work.
In 2010, Sandra married Eduardo Valdez, the love of her life. Their union was a beautiful chapter marked by warmth, laughter, and mutual respect. Although Eduardo left this world in 2015, the love they shared remained a guiding light in Sandra's life. She was the heart of her family, a steady presence whose love knew no bounds.
Sandra leaves behind a loving family who will carry her legacy forward: her children, Natalie Lopez, Cassandra and Reynaldo Dominguez, Fernando and Priscilla Lopez, and Frank Lopez. Her 13 grandchildren—Adessa, Miguel, Anthony, Sahara, Sandra, Kaila, Yadiel, Savannah, Luke, Darian, Dorian, Christopher, and Ezekiel—were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her siblings, Antonio (Irma), Jose, Alex, Carlos (Mary), Raul, Paul (Leticia), Rogelio, John, Jesse, Guadalupe Pearson, and Janie, will forever hold her memory close.
Sandra's life was enriched by her passions. She adored listening to music, dancing, tending to her garden, and spending time with her beloved family. Her home was always filled with laughter, music, and the comforting aroma of cookouts. Her mornings began with the solace of scripture, and her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through joys and hardships alike. An active participant in her community, Sandra was known for her involvement in city elections in Laredo, always striving to make a positive impact. Her kindness and generosity were boundless, and she was ever ready to lend a helping hand or provide a comforting word.
Sandra's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all who surrounded her with love and support, treating her like the queen she was. Your kindness brought her immense joy and will forever be remembered.
