Sandra J Frier

Sandra J. Frier, age 81 of Park River, ND passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.

Sandra J. Skoda was born February 7, 1938 in Rice Lake, WI, the daughter of the late Ralph and Alida (Peterson) Skoda. She grew up and attended school there. She was united in marriage to Richard Frier on December 7, 1954 in Pine City, MN. The couple moved to Park River, ND in 1960 where they owned and operated Frier Septic Tank Cleaning Services. Richard passed away on August 20, 1985. Following Richard’s passing, she attended UND where she earned a Dietician Certificate. She worked as a Dietician for the Grafton State School until retiring in 2004. Following her retirement she traveled for several years.

She was a member of the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River, and a former member of the Jaycee’s and hockey boosters. She enjoyed being outdoors and spring was her favorite season. She was an avid gardener and canned many things from her garden. She loved reading and also wrote poetry.

Sandra is survived by her children: Alida Chyle, Las Vegas, NV, Richard Frier, Park River, ND and Christopher (Michelle Clayton) Frier, Grafton, ND, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Jerome Skoda and Allan Johnson and sister Berniece Johnson.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 3-5 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. A prayer service will follow at 5:00 P.M. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery of Park River in the spring.
