Sandra J Estad

Sandra J. “Sandy” Estad, age 69 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Sandy Tanke was born July 27, 1947 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of the late George and Jean (Schultz) Tanke. She attended country school near Grafton and later Grafton Public Schools. Following her education, she was united in marriage to Terry Estad. The couple made their home in Grafton and she worked as a custodian at Grafton Public Schools until retiring in 2010.

She was a member of the Grafton American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, spending summers at the lake and with her grandchildren.

Sandy is survived by her husband Terry, Grafton, ND, children: Blaine (Lori) Estad and Stacy (Donald) Rudnik, both of Grafton, grandchildren, Austin Estad, Paige and Casey Rudnik, siblings: Judy McMillian, Grafton, ND, Georgia (Randy) Aho, Crookston, MN, and Gayle (Don) Beneda, Lankin, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery.
