Ruth A. Williams

Ruth A. Williams, age 78 of Park River, ND and formerly Grafton passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Valley Senior Living of Grand Forks.

Ruth A. Peterson was born May 3, 1945, to the late Harold and Dorothy (Mowbray) Peterson in Langdon, North Dakota. Ruth grew up and attended school in Grafton.  After graduation, she attended cosmetology school.  She began working at the Life Skills and Transition Center as a hairdresser, where she worked for 20+ years.  Ruth married Martin Ramsrud and together they welcomed two sons, Marlon and Mitch.  She also worked part time for many years at the Leonard Video and Simonson’s.

On August 5, 1995, Ruth united in marriage to Thomas Williams in Grafton.  They loved traveling together, taking trips to the oceans where Ruth collected countless shells.  Ruth and Thomas loved to attend blues festivals and car shows.  She also had a huge passion for dogs and loved playing solitaire on her computer.  Ruth enjoyed spending time together as a family and loved her time with her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her sons: Marlon (Jackie) Ramsrud, Mitch (Josie) Ramsrud; grandchildren: Krystle Gire, Shyann Bushey, Lacey Eckmann, Kayla Ramsrud, Brittany (Michael) Rasmusson, Alexis Ramsrud, Kristine Ramsrud, Jessica (Jason) Nelson, Jacob Lunski, Chelsea Lunski, Kristine Ramsrud; 26 great grandchildren and brothers: Roger Peterson and Daniel Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents and great grandchildren London Gire and Cayton Bushey.

Private services will take place with inurnment at Grafton Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton ND.
