Ruth Elznic

Ruth A. Elznic, age 75 of Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.

Ruth Ann Mastre was born November 3, 1942 in Park River, ND, the daughter of the late Vernon and Norma (Gillespie) Mastre. She grew up and attended school there. Following her education, she worked several places in the Park River area including the Eastside Drive-Inn, the Dairy Queen, Jim’s Super Valu, as well as selling Avon for a number of years until her health forced her to retire. She was united in marriage to Lee Elznic on August 29, 1981 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Hoople. The couple made their home in Park River.

Ruth was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Hoople. She loved horses, bowling, softball and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law: Joni Mastre, Park River, ND, Linda Mastre, West Fargo, ND, JoAnn Mastre, Park River, ND, brother-in-law Wallace “Butch” Skjordal, Surprise, AZ, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee, siblings Ronnie, Donnie, Bob, Kenny and Janice Skjordal. She was also preceded by two infant siblings.

Memorial services will be Friday, November 10, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery of Park River at a later date.
