Ruth J. Bina, age 86 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Ruth J. Cihlar was born August 18, 1925 near Lankin, ND the daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Kovarik) Cihlar. She attended rural school and graduated from Lankin High School. She attended Mayville State Teachers College and received her teaching certificate. She taught rural schools in Latona and Shepherd Townships of Walsh County from 1944-1961. Ruth was united in marriage to Archie M. Bina on June 11, 1947 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lankin. The couple lived and farmed near Brocket, ND until 1971 when they moved to Grafton. Ruth worked at the Grafton Developmental Center from 1971 until retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Grafton American Legion Auxiliary. Ruth is survived by her husband Archie of Grafton, ND; daughters: Kay (Jim) Wilebski and Carol Bina, both of Grafton, ND; grandson Kyle Wilebski, Grand Forks, ND; sister Josephine (Donald) Shirek, Billings, MT. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Rose Miller, brother-in-law George Miller and brother and sister-in-law; Donald and Jean Bina. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery of Grafton.
