Roy W. Lacy

Roy W. Lacy, age 100, of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.

Roy Wilson Lacy was born April 13, 1915 in Fessenden, ND the son of the late Ansley and Josephine (Shumate) Lacy. He graduated from Fessenden School and attended Moorhead State Teacher’s College. He taught school for a couple of years in Fessenden and Cottonwood, ND. In 1937 Roy entered the Ministry and served in the United States, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico. In 2000 he returned to Grafton and lived with the Wayne Rutherford Family. He returned to Mexico for a short time and in 2009 returned to Grafton where he lived at at the Lutheran Sunset Home.

He is survived by a niece and two nephews: Karolyn Allen, Phoenix, AZ; Paul Lacy, Phoenix, AZ and Terry Lacy, Mesa, AZ and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Kenneth, Virginia and Robert.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. at the Grafton Armory, Grafton, North Dakota. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Fessenden, North Dakota in the spring.
