Roselea J. Ellingson, age 85 of Park River, ND, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center.

Roselea Herseth was born September 19, 1932 in Langdon, ND, the daughter of the late Ole and Marie (Nygard) Herseth. She was baptized by Pastor C.W. Skunas of Milton, ND. Later the family moved to a farm in rural Adams, ND. She was confirmed in the Mountain Lutheran Church in Adams, ND by Pastor O.T. Haugen. She attended grade school and high school in Adams, ND, graduating in 1951. That year she began work at the Security State Bank in Adams.

Roselea was united in marriage to Clyde Ellingson on June 5, 1954 in Adams, ND. They were married in the parsonage with Pastor O.T. Haugen officiating. They moved to Park River, ND and she worked at the First State Bank in Park River. Later they moved to Grafton, ND and she was employed at the Walsh County Court House. After moving to Grand Forks, ND she was employed at Goodman Furniture. After a number of years in Bismarck they retired to Park River, ND.

In retirement, Clyde began making handmade wood crafts and Roselea joined him as they made the circuit as vendors to numerous craft fairs in the area. They enjoyed their hobby and made many new friends through their craft work. They moved to the Good Samaritan Center in the fall of 2017.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, especially traditional Scandinavian foods; crafts, notably hardanger needle work, and sewing. She became the family historian, carrying on the tradition of keeping the family scrapbook, a project her mom had started in 1923.

Roselea is survived by her husband of 63 years, Clyde Ellingson, Park River, ND; sister, DeLane Disrud, Minot, ND; nephew, Steven Disrud, Milaca, MN and nieces: Stephanie Heiberg, Eden Prairie, MN; Ronda Sangrait, Thief River Falls, MN; Kim Philipp, Yucca, AZ; also to be remembered by her thoughtful and kind neighbors and friends that have surrounded the family.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Odalen Lutheran Cemetery, rural Edinburg, in the spring.
