Rose J. Bartuska age 93 of Fargo, ND, formerly of Park River, ND passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo.
Rose Josephine Dub was born March 19, 1925 on the Dub family farm in Rushford Township, Walsh County, ND, the daughter of the late Anton and Elizabeth (Cicha) Dub. She was the fifth of ten children. She lived the life of a farm child typical of the era. Rose was united in marriage to John Bartuska on November 11, 1947 in Pisek, ND. After a time living in Chicago, they returned to the Conway area where they raised their five children.
She was known to family and friends alike as a hard-working and loving mother and wife. She cherished her Catholic faith, which enabled her to deal with life’s several adversities.
Rose is survived by her children: Betty (Lewis) Hodny, Gillette, WY; Holly Pherson, West Fargo, ND; Susan (Paul) Hendrickson, Colfax, ND; Jack (Carolyn) Bartuska, Forest River, ND; Cindy (Larry) Schwartz, West Fargo, ND; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings: Verna Railey, Lake Villa, IL; Clem Dub, Park River, ND; Clementine O’Toole, Devils Lake, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, son-in-law, Leon Pherson and her siblings: Florence Janousek, Felix Dub, Emil Dub, Ray Dub, Charles Dub and Irene Carter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery of Park River.
