Ronald E. Vavrosky, age 83 of Park River, passed away Friday, July 08, 2016 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.
Ronald E. Vavrosky was born May 31, 1933 in Pisek, ND, the son of the late Timothy and Minnie (Nymon) Vavrosky. He attended school in Park River. After his schooling he entered the U.S. Navy. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Park River where he owned and operated Turks Bar. Ronald was united in marriage to Marjorie Widme on January 12, 1955 in Park River. The couple made their home in Park River. He worked as an Iron Worker until his retirement. The couple wintered in Brownsville, Texas for 19 years. Ronald moved to Valley Eldercare on October 8, 2015.
He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Iron Workers Association and the Park River American Legion. He was a curler, loved to hunt and fish and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie Vavrosky, Park River, ND; children: Douglas (Avril) Vavrosky, Minneapolis, MN; Donald Vavrosky, Minneapolis, MN; Karen (Henry) Estephan, Minneapolis, MN; Kathryn Swallow, Park River, ND; grandchildren: Peter, John, James, Ryan, Wesley and Mark; great grandchildren: Kaylie and Ryer; nephews: Mike and Steve Vavrosky; niece, Becky Vavrosky. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tim and nephew, Tom.
Memorial services will be Monday, August 1, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bethel Baptist Church of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
