Ronald D. Mastre

Ronald D. Mastre, age 74 of Park River, ND passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Ronald D. Mastre was born February 26, 1940 in Walsh County, ND the son of the late Vernon and Norma (Gillespie) Mastre. He attended rural school between Grafton and Park River. Following his education he worked construction for a time. He later started working for Earl Marifjeren Farms and worked there until retiring in the early 2000's. Ronald was united in marriage to Joan Gillies on February 25, 1995 in Park River. The couple has made their home in Park River since. Ron was a member of the Park River Volunteer Fire Department and the Park River Jaycee's. He enjoyed fishing very much. Ronald is survived by his wife, Joan of Park River, ND children: Patti Mastre, Park River, ND and Ricky Mastre, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Melissa Jelinek, Stephanie Aune, Stacy Aune, Austin Aune, Patrick Aune, and Travis Fladeland, seven great grandchildren, his sister, Ruth Elznic, Park River, ND and brother, Bob (Linda) Mastre, West Fargo, ND; niece, Sami Swartz, Grand Forks, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Janice Skjordal, twin brother, Donald and brother, Kenneth. Funeral services will be Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Park River Federated Church. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
