Ronald D. Kleven, Sr.

Ronald D. Kleven, Sr. age 74 of Grafton, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020 at his home in Grafton.

Ronald D. Kleven was born March 23, 1946 in Karlstad, Minnesota, the son of the late Ruth (Kleven) Golby.  He attended school in Karlstad and worked various jobs in the community until enlisting in the United States Army.  While serving he was stationed in Italy.  He returned to the Karlstad area and worked for area farmers.  Ronald was united in marriage to Diane Tupa on August 30, 1967 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Grafton, ND.  The family made their home in Grafton.  Ronald worked for Schumacher and Son’s and then the City of Grafton until his retirement.

He loved to spend time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and working on motors.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Diane Kleven, Grafton, ND; sons:  Ronald Kleven, Jr., Grafton, ND;  Jason Kleven, Grand Forks, ND; granddaughters:  Kaitlyn Kleven and Kristen (Billy) Schindeldecker; great granddaughters:  Sophie and Scarlett; siblings:  Charlotte (Paul) Brodin, Grand Forks, ND; Ann Voth, Karlstad, MN and sister-in-law, Linda Golby, Annandale, MN.  He is preceded in death by his mother, brother, Roger Golby, sister, Helen Beito, brother-in-law, Wayne Voth and nephew, Alan Brodin.

Memorial Services will be Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery.  Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
