Ronald E. Jardine

Ronald E. Jardine, age 75 of Bismarck, ND and formerly of Palmdale, CA and Osnabrock, ND passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Baptist Home of Bismarck, ND after a long illness. Ron was born February 8, 1934 to Rudolph and Ruby (Hanson) Jardine in Osford Township of Cavalier County, ND. He attended rural school in Osnbrock Township and graduated from Osnabrock High School. He served in the Armed Forces for two years in the 1950's. Ron was united in marriage to Evelyn Rike on November 1, 1958. The couple moved to California where Ron worked at several car dealerships. He was later married to Gigi Pinnell. He worked for Pioneer Honda in Palmdale, CA until his retirement. In 1999 he returned to North Dakota to be closer to his family. Ron was a member of the A.V. American Legion Post #311 in Lancaster, CA. He is survived by his daughter; Shelly (Lyle) Hunter, Crystal, ND; stepson Erik (Natalie) Pinnell, Lancaster, CA; sister Beverly Jarrett, Bismarck, ND; two grandchildren: Whitney Salwei, East Grand Forks, MN; Abigail Hunter, Crystal, ND; two step-grandchildren; Brandon and Lukas Pinnell; adopted grandson; Garrett Halldorson, Mountain, ND; great granddaughter: Kenley Salwei-Larson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin and two nephews: Duane and Greg Jarrett. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Dovre Lutheran Church of Osnabrock, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Highland Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fairdale, ND. Military rites will be provided by the Osnabrock American Legion Post.
