Roger F. Guderjahn, age 76 of Hoople, ND passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at First Care Health Center of Park River.
Roger F. Guderjahn was born July 24, 1941 in Rolla, ND the son of the late Frank and Ruth (Reed) Guderjahn. He attended schools in Rolla, Devils Lake and graduated from Petersburg High School. Following his education he served in the United States Army from 1959-1962. Following his discharge he returned to Grand Forks, ND and worked construction. Roger was united in marriage to Cecelia Huard on November 6, 1965 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church of Thompson, ND. The couple made their home in Grand Forks, ND. Roger worked as a milkman for Minnesota Dairy for 18 years. In 1977 the couple moved to Hoople, ND where they purchased the Hoople Market. They owned and operated the market for 10 years. Roger then worked as a carpenter in the Hoople area until retiring in 2008.
Roger was a member of the Hoople American Legion Post.
Roger is survived by his wife, Cecelia “Cece” Guderjahn, Hoople, ND; his children: Lonnie (Rhonda) Guderjahn, Urbandale, IA; Wanda (Vincent) Langerud, East Grand Forks, MN; David Guderjahn, Minot, ND; Rick Guderjahn, Fargo, ND; six grandchildren: Claire, Noel, Derrick (Brittney), Samantha, Sara and Kurtis and one great granddaughter, Genevieve; his siblings: Myrna (Jerry) Ott, Eugene, OR and Franklin (Janet) Guderjahn, Gillette, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Crystal, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a rosary service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Military rites will be provided by the Hoople American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
