Rodney Dean Nord

Rodney D. Nord, age 58 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his home in Grafton.

Rodney Dean Nord was born May 21, 1958 in Grafton, ND the son of Benjamin and Helen (Wolfgram) Nord. He attended school in St. Thomas, ND and Oregon. Following his education he returned to Grafton. He worked construction in Grafton, worked at the Peavey Elevator in Hensal, ND. He married Gail Latraille in 1979. He later worked as an auto mechanic for Lykken’s and Hanson’s Auto until his health forced him to retire.

Rodney loved spending time with his grandchildren, grilling and teaching them to play the harmonica.

He is survived by his children: Jacob Nord and Amy (Tony) Martinez, both of Grafton, ND; seven grandchildren: Chloe Nord, Penelope Martinez, Hannah Martinez, Kallee Nord, Jonathan Nord, Mackenzie Martinez and Katleyn Martinez, his mother, Helen Nord, Grafton, ND; brothers: Allan Nord of Grafton and Gerald Nord of Oshkosh, WI. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Wanda.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Rural St. Thomas, ND in the spring.
