It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend. Roberta E. Dinkel, age 72, of Grafton, ND passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Roberta E. Eide, was born June 10, 1953 in Grafton, ND, the youngest child of the late Melvin and Bessie (Nelson) Eide. She grew up and attended school in Crystal, ND. Roberta knew a little boy who was 3 years older than her named Allen. She didn’t like Allen when she was little. He scratched her new bicycle and she was very upset, so they were enemies for a long time. However, as they grew older, they couldn’t deny their love for each other, and were united in marriage on December 7, 1974 in Walhalla, ND. The couple then made their home in Crystal, ND.
Roberta loved being a homemaker and was an amazing mom to her two daughters. She worked during the potato harvest at O.C. Schultz and Sons in Crystal, ND. After the girls grew up and moved away from home, the couple moved to Grafton, ND to be closer to their grandchildren. She then worked as a housekeeper and a dietary aide at Lutheran Sunset Home. Later in life, the couple moved to Grand Forks, ND and worked at LM Windpower. The couple moved back to Grafton to retire and enjoy life.
Roberta loved to work on Word Search puzzles, play kismet and play pinochle. Days of Our Lives was her favorite Soap Opera. and everyone knew not to bother her when it was on. Roberta was a very stubborn lady and a fighter, always worrying about her family until her last breath. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and all who were blessed to have known her.
She is survived by her husband Dwight “Allen”, of Grafton, ND; daughters: Tanya (William) Pesci, Grand Forks, ND and Tara Dinkel, McVille, ND; grandchildren: Cameron Vaudrin, Brady (Sandra) Vaudrin, Sylvia Straight, Devin Radway, Skyler Straight and MaeEllen Emory; great-grandchildren: Shelby, Hudson, Reigna, Luna and Kian; siblings: Marvin Eide, Casselton, ND, Doris Lene, Shirley Dolney, Carol Willits and Ken Eide all of Grafton, ND and Sharon Mason, of Augusta, GA: also, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Bessie, and siblings, Francis, Donna and Richard.
