Robert E. "Bob" Holt, age 85 of Lincoln, ND and formerly of Grafton, ND passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Marian Manor in Glen Ullin, ND after a short battle with cancer. Robert E. Holt was born July 24, 1928 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Theodore and Cora (Brandt) Holt. He lived on the family farm in rural Hoople, ND and graduated from Hoople High School. Aside from his service in the Air Force during the Korean War, Robert spent much of his life farming with his dad and brothers. On December 27, 1959 Bob married the love of his life, Gail Brecto and they had over 50 years together until her death in 2011. Bob retired from farming in 1987 and then became a crop hail insurance adjuster until his retirement in 2000. Bob was a past member of the United Methodist Church of Hoople and a current member of Bethel Free Lutheran Church of Grafton, ND. He was a member of the Hoople American Legion Post #240. He was also a huge Green Bay Packers fan and proudly wore their gear. He is survived by his son Brad Holt, Lincoln, ND; grandson, Logan of Bismarck, ND; his brothers: Clinton, Schertz, TX and Mark (Judy) Holt, Grafton, ND; sister, Helen (John) Quam, Mound, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gail and brother Marvin. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Bethel Free Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Military rites will be provided by the Hoople American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
