Robert Greicar

Robert Greicar age 71 of Pisek, ND passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Robert Greicar was born October 21, 1938 in Lawton, ND the son of the late Louis and Adella (Schnedar) Greicar. He attended rural school at the Eden Prairie School Dist. #94 near Pisek and graduated from Pisek High School. Following his education he served in the United States Army from October of 1957 to September of 1959, serving in France. Following his discharge, Bob returned home and farmed with his father. Robert was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church of Pisek, ND where he served on the church council and cemetery board. He served on the Pisek Rural Fire Department. He was a member of the Novotny-Kachena American Legion Post of Pisek. Robert enjoyed hunting deer, fishing at Devils Lake, and driving his 39 Dodge in parades. He enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews in their sporting events. He especially loved spending time with his family. Robert is survived by his siblings: Mary Ann (Jim) Sommer, East Grand Forks, MN; Eddie (Camille) Greicar, Fargo, ND; Larry (Mary) Greicar, Grand Forks, ND; Kathy (Lyle) Jelinek, Pisek, ND; sister-in-law; Marie Greicar, Pisek, ND; nieces and nephews: Clair Greicar, Brian (Kate) Greicar, Deborah (Tom)Torkelson, Lonnie Greicar, Jamie (Jessie) Greicar, Jeanine, Dean, Jana, Shawn, Julie, Jay, Lee and Chad Jelinek, great nieces and nephews: Kyleigh Jelinek, Cody Chyle, Eric, Andrew, and Evan Torkelson, Emily and Robby Greicar. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Jean and Ben. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 13, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church of Pisek. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the St. John's Catholic Church in Pisek. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Novotny-Kachena American Legion Post.
