Robert M. Dolan

Robert M. Dolan, age 56 of Grafton passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012 at his home near Grafton. Robert M. Dolan was born September 28, 1955 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Raymond and Henrietta (Barta) Dolan. He attended school at St. Aloysius Academy in Oakwood and graduated from Grafton High School in 1974. Robert farmed with his father and brothers until 1991. He was united in marriage to Lea Ann Sollin on August 25, 1990 in Oakwood, ND. The couple made their home near Grafton. In the fall of 1991 he started working for the Walsh County Highway Department as a blade operator, and worked there until his death. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church of Grafton and the Grafton Knights of Columbus Council #3918. He pitched for the JR's Softball team for many years. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, and golfing, camping and loved going to movies, especially westerns. Robert especially loved spending time with his children Emily and Travis. He is survived by his wife Lea Ann of Grafton, ND; daughter Emily Dolan and her fiancé Zach Gilleshammer of Moorhead, MN; son Travis Dolan, Grafton, ND; siblings: Richard (Linda) Dolan, Grafton, ND; Francis (Barbara) Dolan, Bemidji, MN; Paul (Barbara) Dolan, Grafton, ND; Eileen LaBerge, Oakland, CA; Dennis (Debra) Dolan, York, NE; mother-in-law: Marlys Sollin, Devils Lake, ND; brothers-in-law: Jerry (Karen) Sollin, Bottineau, ND and Grant (Lisa) Sollin, Loveland, CO. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Gary Sollin. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. John's Catholic Church. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Oakwood, ND. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials directed to the Save Our Strand Fund in Grafton.
